Planning Board · Meeting of February 25, 2026

NJ EAST BRUNSWICK — Planning Board adopts affordable housing ordinances, extends warehouse project timeline. The board voted unanimously to recommend six zoning ordinances and readopt the Housing Element and Fair Share Plan, targeting state fair housing compliance by March 16. The ordinances create four new residential zoning districts permitting a maximum of 296 new affordable units over the next 10 years, including a 100 percent affordable townhouse development on the former Sixth Street bus terminal and inclusionary housing requirements at two additional sites.

The board also extended site plan approval for Sunscape Enterprises' warehouse project at 12 Harts Lane for one year to December 20, 2026, after the applicant resolved easement conflicts through plan revisions and received final engineering approval in October.
