Planning Board approves Lidl store and Hussain residential subdivision

NJ EAST BRUNSWICK — East Brunswick Planning Board approves Lidl store and residential subdivision. The board voted 8-0 with one abstention to approve the Lidl U.S. Operations application for a 23,481-square-foot grocery store and 1,015-square-foot drive-through restaurant at 651 State Route 18, representing a significant reduction from a previously approved 31,042-square-foot store at the same HC-2 zone location.

In a separate action, the Planning Board voted 7-2 to approve the Hussain residential subdivision at 15 Kerschner Lane to divide 1.83 acres into two single-family lots, with conditions requiring Middlesex County Board of Health septic approval. The board denied the Hillel subdivision proposal at 10 Tracy Drive and postponed the Golden Oak Estates development pending further consideration May 26.
