Planning Board approves Riva Avenue subdivision, completes 2026 reorganization

NJ EAST BRUNSWICK — East Brunswick Planning Board approves Riva Avenue subdivision; reorganizes for 2026. The board voted 7 to 0 with one abstention to approve Application #25-21 from 530 & 532 Riva, LLC, which proposes demolition and subdivision of the two-parcel property at Block 310, Lots 37 and 38 in the RP Zone to construct two single-family dwellings. The annual reorganization installed Muhammad Hashmi as vice chairman, Laurence Reiss as secretary, Deborah Masterton as recording secretary, Lawrence Sachs as attorney, CME Associates as engineer, Dave Lonski as conflict attorney, and T & M Associates as conflict engineer, all by unanimous vote.

The board also honored retiring member Charlie Heppel, who served 26 years on the Planning Board, including five years as vice chairman through December 2025.
