NJ EAST BRUNSWICK — East Brunswick Planning Board rejects Hillel subdivision in 5-5 tie vote. Applicant Ofir Hillel sought to subdivide a Tracy Drive property into two lots for two five-bedroom homes, though the site is currently approved for one house only. Neighbors objected on safety and snow removal grounds; the applicant offered $100,000 for a water main extension to address chlorine residual issues affecting water quality.
Township Administrator Joseph Criscuolo explicitly opposed the plan, citing narrow-street maneuverability constraints and his duty to protect existing residents. The tie vote resulted in automatic denial.
